Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge – A Dark Day

I went on a photo foray at Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge with Cherrie Corey a field naturalist, educator and photographer. Although it was a dark day it was still beautiful. I always learn so much when I am with her, she explains what we are seeing and hearing all around us. I was so happy I had my telephoto lens with me and was able to capture a woodpecker high up in the trees. While we were at the Concord River the sun did peek out and I captured the photo of the river. Please check out Cherrie’s website and consider joining her on her walks – Sense of Place Concord.

A Monochrome Day

Another beautiful day in Concord. It snowed three inches overnight and the morning was a mix of snow, rain and sleet. My Mom is in town dog sitting a wonderful dog named Leo, Cooper’s good friend. We walked at The Old North Bridge and at Estabrook Woods where we met up with a friend and her dog Beau. With a stormy sky and the ground and trees covered in snow and ice, the photos look black and white, a very different look from the blue sky photos I took over the weekend. See the ‘Winter’ and ‘Cooper’ galleries for the latest photos, here are a few of my favorites.

Estabrook Woods – lots of snow in Concord

We have 3+ feet of snow on the ground and lots of ice. It is so beautiful but very tough walking in the woods. After days of snow followed by sleet and rain I woke to sunshine this morning. I walked in Estabrook Woods, 1200+ acres of woodland, the largest contiguous and undeveloped woodland within 30 miles of Boston.

Although the trees are bare, they are beautiful against the blue skies and winter snowscape.

Welcome!

Welcome to my website. I have always loved taking photos and a few years ago I started making cards with my photos to give as gifts. The feedback has been so wonderful. Friends and family encouraged me to create a website to share my photos and give people the opportunity to buy my cards. Click on the galleries above – Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer, People and Cooper. I hope you enjoy looking at my photos. Please share my website with your friends.

A BIG Thank you to my 16-year-old son for creating this website and for patiently teaching me how to maintain it.
